Choosing and Caring for a Fitted Bed Cover

A removable layer for everyday bed care

A fitted bed cover sits over the mattress and beneath your fitted sheet. Sheets can be changed easily, but the mattress underneath is harder to clean. A removable cover gives you another washable layer for sweat, body oils and everyday spills. It cannot reverse an existing stain or make a damaged mattress suitable for use.

Material and construction

This cover has an 80% cotton-terry surface and a thin TPU backing. Its fitted construction differs from a zipped encasement, which surrounds a mattress. The cover is not a mattress topper: it is intended for surface protection, not extra cushioning or a change in mattress firmness. Quilted and cooling products elsewhere may have different materials and purposes; compare their own specifications.

Choose the size by measurements

The options are Single, 99 x 190 x 36 cm; Double, 137 x 190 x 30 cm; Queen, 152 x 203 x 46 cm; and King, 193 x 203 x 46 cm. Each comes in Black or White. Measure width, length and depth before ordering. If you use a topper, include it when checking the combined depth and ensure the cover can fit without stretching the backing.

Fit the cover without forcing it

Start with a clean, dry mattress. Fit the corners evenly and smooth the cover before adding your sheet. Check that the elastic sits securely and that there are no folded or overstretched areas. For an adjustable bed, check the fit through its movement. Follow the mattress maker’s guidance for memory foam and other specialist mattresses. For electric blankets or heated bedding, use the products together only when both manufacturers permit it.

Spills, pets and family use

The backing is intended to help protect the covered surface from liquid. Seams, fit, condition and laundering affect performance; it is not an unlimited-volume guarantee. Remove wet bedding promptly and inspect underneath. Pet claws and sharp objects can damage fabric or backing. A spare cover can help you remake the bed while one is washing. Check suitability carefully for children; this range does not offer a cot-specific cover.

Comfort, noise and cleaning

Comfort and warmth depend on the mattress, sheets, room and sleeper as well as the protector. No cooling or completely silent result is promised. Wash according to the supplied label and dry fully before refitting. Do not assume that bleach, ironing, dry cleaning or high dryer heat is suitable. Clean after spills and as needed for your household, and store the cover clean and dry.

Allergies, durability and warranty

This is household bedding, not a treatment for allergies or a certified bed-bug barrier. If your use requires certification, contact us for the relevant documents before ordering. Inspect for tears, stretched elastic or damaged backing and replace a worn cover. Lifespan varies with use and care. Your mattress manufacturer’s warranty conditions still apply; buying a cover does not automatically guarantee coverage or a particular saving.

Compare the options and order

Select the size and colour above. The actual CAD prices are $88 Single, $99 Double, $109 Queen and $121 King. A cover can be useful on a new or older mattress when it fits and the mattress remains in suitable condition. Compare the specifications, price and care requirements with your needs rather than relying on blanket claims about cheap or premium alternatives.
